2015 came and went, it was a glorious year filled with lesssons and challenges overcome, Filled with ups and downs and all sorts of curve balls that life threw at me. This year I challenged myself in multiple areas, and I can honestly say this year I have a hard time keeping track of all that has happened, the different places I've been, and ofcourse the people I've had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with.. Thankfully this year I also did something my grandfather has been asking me to do for some time, which is to write down in a journal sort of way, a documentation of my life's happenings so that I can look back and re-live those moments in the future. Something he himself did not do as much and now regrets not having that. So I've documented as much of this year as I could, and started a blog that I will fill up with posts like this one. In 2015 I competed in 7 tournaments, and even though I only placed in 2 of them, I'm very grateful for the opportunity to step forward, represent my team, my family, and leave it all on the mat! I was able to visit the lovely Southern California, the BJJ hub of the world right now, train at ATOS HQ and rub elbows with some really tough guys that I now call teammates, I got to meet and speak to some of my idols in BJJ and living legends of the gentle art, and I got to see my very good friend and brother in arms earn his black belt from Prof Andre Galvao! I trained with world champions, and competed against world champions.. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat! I'm so grateful for all the lessons learned, and looking forward to a very prosperous, competition filled 2016!!!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
